OnePlus’s first smartphone has already created quite a buzz, offering buyers a combination of high-end specifications at a ridiculously low price. Now, we have been tipped that the company is close to launching its first smartwatch called OneWatch.
We have received a detailed sketch of the OneWatch (seen above) that gives us a fair idea of how the smartwatch looks and the kind of features it will offer. The smartwatch flaunts an OLED display protected by Sapphire glass, and the watch face sports titanium borders. Like a traditional watch, the OneWatch has a crown that can be used to configure the smartwatch. The leather strap is said to house a curved battery, which can be charged using a Qi wireless charger.
In terms of design, the OneWatch follows a language similar to the Motorola Moto 360. The round form factor is surely more appealing than the square-ish display we get to see on most of the smartwatches today. Also unlike some of the bigger smartwatches, the OneWatch seems to be ideally sized to fit on smaller wrists.
It would also be interesting to see what operating system the smartwatch runs on. OnePlus could either opt for Google’s Android Wear or go with its own UI on top of Android.
The above photo also shows that OnePlus has a website ready for the smartwatch, which means a launch shouldn’t be that far off.
