Etowalk is also selling the MTK version, I wonder if this is a better option in the long run as it's dual core CPU 460 + 280 = 740

Jeremy at Eto tells me that the firmware is not as good yet on the MTK version as the development team is much smaller. But in the long run I'm wondering if it's a better phone, the cpu is much stronger?

And yet they have managed to do it for the A1 Diamond clone, and that's using the MTK processor. :)

Mike
yes indeed they managed to do so for all MTK clones, like t3333 , G6 and the A1. But it seems to take them some while to create those android roms. So far those phones still got WIndows ROms installed. Its only a question of time and they are probably more expirienced with WM :)

But then im looking forward to Petteris test :)

heres a new comparison:

http://www.mobileuncle.com/news/price/2010/1001/2350.html

Now these businesses are also playing a scam, take the names are similar, the G7 is very rich platform on the market named as the G8, 3.2-inch screen (240x400), T-mobile version of G7 3.6 inch (480x800), K3 dual card dual standby Edition G7 3.8 inches (480x800), K3 version of G73.8-inch (480x800) of the product. Are all positive aspects of the metal shell material, the back covered with rubber, engineering plastics used in coating, better maintenance, usually not easy to leave fingerprints.
This 4 G7, the smallest screen has 3.2 inch, the largest 3.8-inch, in addition to almost 3.2-inch resolution (240x400), the other 3 are all reached the WVGA level. How to actually display it, we selected the same photo, the phone open to the maximum brightness, contrast in the outdoors together, shown in the figure. G8 (3.2 inch) of this, compare the color of cold, K3 single card board version of G7 (3.8 inch) display is fine, but the color a little yellowish, K3 dual card dual standby version of G7 (3.8 inches) display fine, But the screen brightness low, in the more strenuous outdoor look, the right-most this amazing T-mobile version (3.6) of the G7, the screen display is outstanding, delicate images, screen brightness, for outdoor use is not in problem.
Systems, we are all WM6.5 operating system, software compatibility aspects are the same, but different hardware determines the operating speed, the hardware strongest K3 Edition (CPU 520MHZ, RAM 256M) G7 course, let's take Under the first, and then is MTK 3.6-inch T-mobile version of G7 with 3.8-inch G7 (CPU 400MHZ, RAM 256M), the minimum hardware configuration for the bottom of the 3.2-inch G8, (CPU 400MHZ, RAM 128M).
Evaluation Summary: G3 low high school program of multi-segment configuration, to give us the flexibility of choice, regardless of emphasis on cost-effective, camera or business of the dual card dual standby, can meet the diverse needs of everyone, but MTK platform G7, more like a dark horse, highly personalized features, hardware decoding RMVB light shine smart phone industry, which is sufficient, we can see before the market sold out, buyers waiting MTK 6516 version of HD2, a strong performance, 480P smooth playback capability, the other models relentless spike.

Again I see a different spec on the desire clone, this time it's stating mtk is 400mghz, not 460 dual core + 280 ?

its 416mhz :) ( well thats the recommended cpu speed for the MT6516 ) http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=cpu&id=a6516&c=mediatek_mt6516

and i dont think its a dual cpu.
I also think that those numbers are from benchmark tests, maybe? because the k3 chip has either got 460 Mhz or 533Mhz, but not 360mhz. but then chinese numbers differ quite often anyway :)

yeah i also quite often heard of this 460 + 280 mhz thing. but to be honest i dont really get it lol.

I mean is it a true Dual core, i mean does it actually have two cores. Or does it have one core, with an additional mhz in spare, just in case it requires more.
Unfortunately there is not a lot of info on mediateks homepage. They produce various CPUs.
http://www.mtk.com.tw/en/product/list.php?cata3=1

But then preformance wise it seems to be a decent chip, well at least for the clones with Android :) I mean its not a snapdragon of course :)

yeah, well I'm not bothered about it being a snapdragon really, I'm looking at how the A1 performs with spb, and taking into account how it throws the carousel around at a very high framerate, I'm guessing that has to be a true 700 mghz + cpu all in.

The A1 phone to is meant to be an MTK 460 dual core +280.
What we need to know is whether the desire is the same hardware, if it is, then I will buy it for sure.
