Hi,

I have just purchased a Gpad G11, and I'm sure like a of people don't know where to look for future updates, so I thought we could start a thread on the best sites to check for different pad models?

I wish I knew who that guy was???? I can't see a forum link, or the name of the guy who's done it!

I am quite familiar with editing Linux stuff with Vi editor, although I don't know if the Adroid distro uses this as an editor yet, but if it does, its a bit of a monster to get used to at first.

Again I've not read it all yet, but I'm thinking once the tablet is on the network you should be able to just telnet onto the tablet as root, or ssh if the tablet uses secure shell.

More stuff...

Help needed.

Please check out the request that has been made on this site requesting the Android BSP, if we all join in maybe something will happen, and these guys have done a lot of work, I think it's the least we could do :)

Maybe we should not use the standard form, it is so easy to spam filter that '^^
But if you use your own texts, please be polite!

Hi VeNoMouS!
Greetings to the counterweight continent '^^
I realy cross my fingers that they will give you the bsp for free.
i think 5k is a bit steep for a call for donations.
Maybe you can suggest a 'non-disclosure agreement'?
but that would put all the development onto your shoulders...

Wow, thanks for coming Venomous, looking at your development, it looks as though once you've got this working on one tablet it will be easier to get it working for other models? How are other tablet manufacturers getting this information, is it being provided to them for free? I wonder if a manufacturer would be worth contacting?

I think other Tablet developers usualy buy the 'development kit's (that thing they offered VeNoMouS for 5000 US$)

You are correct, they also get an NDA (non disclosure agreement) they have to sign, btw the $5k USD was the cheapest one :p

And reguarding porting to other tablets, should be pretty easy if you know what your doing, we will be putting up a donations page after we release the beta which will go towards purchasing tablets we can develop on rather than use our own personal one's (i havent been able to play with mine in like 2 weeks) and perhaps ports of other hardware we dont have.. etc...

Anyway guys clock is ticking couple more days before release.... :)

LOL I never asked for a donation of $5k (i wish tho lol), think you miss read something there man :)

We dont mind the development , sure it gets frustrating when you realise after working on something for a couple days that it was so bloody simple in the first place, theres even been times ive wanted to say **** it, some one else can do it..., but its for the community and its also fun to do in your spare time... or work time... or can not sleep because you know the answer is just around the corner hahaha naah jks..

We love it :)

Sorry, seems i got ahead of myself there ^^
I thought you will very probably not want to invest 5k$ just for the fame.
So i thought the next logical thing would be to start colecting donations.
I mean, it would be cool if everyone interested would only donate 1 or 2$ (hey, slatedroid alone has 24k members ^^)
Maybe it is worth a shot after all but of course it is the call of you guys alone '=)

I would donate for sure, whack that donations thing up on your site :) Venomous, without that SDK, what is going to be missing from this current rom you're working on?
Obviously you've been able to keep making progress without it, but it sounds as if you need this kit to complete the Rom in it's entirety?

Will this mean that it's not full Froyo?

The beta is up on the website, so far we dont have any support for OMX thats basicly for video decoding on the vpu :| but yea almost everything else is there, but bare in mind this just a beta, its not the stable release, we will make changes of course :)
